About

Chris Cook (he/him) started his career as a clinical social worker in 2015 following receipt of his Master in Social Welfare (MSW) from UC Berkeley. He worked with individuals and their family systems providing individual and group therapy while employed by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).

While working with CDCR as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Chris attended Golden Gate University law school at night, affording him the opportunity to continue supporting individuals and families therapeutically. He graduated in 2020, earning mutliple honors. Chris worked as an attorney for Bay Area Legal Aid, Sonoma County Public Defender’s Office, and in private practice. He simultaneously continued to work as a therapist providing clinical services in the prison system as well as in the outpatient setting before transitioning to his solo private practice, allowing him to focus wholly on providing  effective, trauma therapy.

Chris is also a co-owner of Sage Family Reunification, a therapy group practice offering an innovative, team-based, and trauma-informed family reconnection therapy, coparenting therapy, and family mediation.
